Volume 14: January 2009

Happy
New Year!

Your new years resolution should include cleaning out your closets! Let me help you! I am open for appointments starting the 3rd week of January.

If it involves getting in shape so that you might finally give me a call, I have a new friend who is a personal trainer. Kat Elliott will come to your house and show you how to use all of your equipment, bring you her unique style of training, or fix you up at the gym one2one on Kirby. She’s affordable and fun! Call her at 713-737-5543 for more information.

Get your new clothes altered. My 2 favorites are Vee (behind Randalls at Bissonett and Weslayan) and John in the Kroger shopping center at Buffalo Speedway and Westpark. (next to Massage Envy)

Fashion Tips

• This is the time to buy coats. If you need to update your winter coat—even though it is even close to winter here, they are all on sale.

Boots are also on many sale racks right now, from DSW to Dillard's and Macy’s. They need to make room for those spring sandals that are not far behind.

• Put away a lot of your velvet for the year. Unfortunately, it has a very short wearing span, so you don’t want to look like Christmas, now that it is over.

• Please stop wearing flip flops when it is actually cold outside! You look like your mother didn’t teach you right!

Favorites

Our old friends from Harold Powell—Weezie, Rita and Kelly have moved over to JoAnn’s in Rice Village. They are going to overhaul the store’s service and I hope you will visit them there. They promise to take good care of you and they are having a huge sale right now.

My friend Sheri over at Basiques is offering 15% off regular merchandise until the end of the month. Just mention my name!

French Cuff is also offering 15% off on regular merchandise until the end of the month for my readers as well. This promotion cannot be combined with any other offer.

Please forward your ideas or questions for this column.
