Tips
Labor Day is here- so here are the rules for those of you that can't remember. And don't ask me where they came from. I have done research and the best answer I can give you is...my grandmother!
- No more white shoes, sandals.
- No more linen, eyelet, seersucker, or
- Put away your summery sandals - that includes anything with a flower!
- White on your bottom is only allowed when it is in denim. All others - lightweight cotton, and lightweight wool need to go to sleep for the winter.
Jeans, Jeans, Jeans...
- There are several styles to choose from this season. Skinny, bootcut, boyfriend, wide leg, trouser, and flare. Pick the one that makes you feel your best and stick with it.
- Lucky Brand Jeans has brought back one of my favorite fits - the Easy Rider. For you curvy girls, it can't be beat and the price is a less than $100.00.
- Dark washes are always best for the older crowd. If you want to be appropriate, forgo the rips and super faded styles.
Catalogs are coming out with some great stuff! I am loving the new look of Talbots and the continual ease of J. Crew. Talbots has the best return policy and J. Crew may have the worst! So make sure you know when and where you can return things if you decide you don't want them.
Macy's is having a huge clearance sale. Don't leave home without the coupon from the Chronicle. There is one almost every day!
Old Navy has some great tees. They are fun, appropriate and cheap! |
