I have been shopping a lot lately for shows and clients and have some great hints to give you about your fall wardrobes…
// ONE //
I know the stores are getting filled up with coats and cashmere and corduroy, but refrain for a couple of weeks. I have lived in Houston for 20 years and the cold front that actually sticks will not STICK until Halloween! Besides all of it will still be in the stores when it goes on sale in 3 weeks!

Knitwear will pill. I have noticed in everyone’s closet that no matter the price of a sweater, it will get pilled in certain places that get a lot of rubbing. The side where you carry your purse, and where the seat belt crosses your chest. Price does not make a difference here. They are all doing this. Invest in a shaver at Walgreens and use it as often as you need to. Pick them off during your favorite show. But don’t wait until the end of the season when the job is too big to handle. Don’t spend too much money in the first place, and you won’t be crying when you have to get rid of it!

Cobalt blue and burgundy are the colors of the season and they look good on everyone. You can find them on any item of clothing that you wear and in many prints that are trendy this season. Don’t go overboard and buy too much of the same thing. You’ll be sorry next fall if those colors are not all the rage and you have a closet full of them.

Fleather/Pleather – whatever you want to call it – it is fake leather. It can be good, and it can be bad – really, really bad! Some of it looks like plastic and it can be really stiff. You’ll know it is good when it is not shiny, has movement and isn’t too stiff. It is much cheaper to clean as well. Make your choices wisely! One piece at a time is enough.
